DAY II: Design Influencers Tour

DESIGN INFLUENCERS TOUR - FALL 2022 CLASS

VARALUZ

We started Day 2 on a bright note at the beautiful Varaluz Showroom. I must admit I was not familiar with the brand, but after their presentation I will be sourcing their products for client projects in the near future.

At Varaluz, all of their finishes are done by hand in the Philippines. They even hand-lay in mosaics and natural fibers one piece at a time. Their lighting is not only beautiful but imaginative. As a company, sustainability important. They don’t just talk the talk - they use low-V.O.C. emitting paints, finishes, and resins which are also applied by hand. Additionally, they pack their products with as little waste as possible. Sounds great doesn’t, looks good too. Here are some of my favorites!

CRYPTON X ANNA ELISABETH

By now you know all about Crypton from our visit with Rowe, but did you know about Anna Elisabeth Fabrics? I just learned about them in August at the Design Influencers Conference and I couldn’t believe I hadn’t heard of them before. They have so many great fabrics and patterns to choose from - then add the cherry of Crypton on top! You can have whatever fabric you want no matter if you have kids or pets. Let’s take a look at some of my favorites.

We got a first hand demonstration of the beauty of Crypton when it comes to a stain. And let me tell you Crypton wins every single time!

WHALEN FURNITURE

I wasn’t ready for everything Whalen had to offer. Again another brand that was new to me this market but one I’m glad to have in my tool box. They offer everything from kitchen cabinets, vanities, custom closets and garages AND solid wood game tables. The Property Brother have a line with Whalen called Scott Living by Drew & Jonathan. Take a look.

THEODORE ALEXANDER

The Theodore Alexander Showroom is an experience. They have over a dozen design partnerships which include collections with Alexa Hampton and Jamie Drake. They are also home to Ralph Lauren Home. While Theodore Alexander may be known for their traditional pieces, I assure you they are equally transitional. These transitional pieces allows a designer to mix styles seamlessly under one brand. Take a look at few favorites from the fall introductions.

CRYPTON x MT COMPANY

The MT Company was another new to me showroom and bonus they have a large selection of Crypton fabrics including leather - yes leather! All of their furniture is built one piece at a time specifically for you right in Highpoint, NC. They have tons of options for custom upholstery and a collection of outdoor furniture. Here are a few of my favorites. I actually took more videos than photos, so to see the full experience check out my tour here.

SHERRILL FURNITURE

Last but certainly not least, Sherrill Furniture. They moved into a beautiful new 2-story showroom and opened as host for the House Beautiful party! While they were new to me, they have been making furniture since 1945. The showroom does a wonderful job of illustrating the history of the brand.

They are home to many brands including Lilian August, Mr & Mrs. Howard and Precedent to name a few. The wide range of styles make it easy to pull from different collections to create a one-of-a-kind look. Take a look.

Well, that’s a wrap! Thank you to all the showrooms for being so welcoming and for the treats that kept us going! I loved learning about each brand and have expanded by design resources. See the Design Influencer Tour through my eyes here. I took videos of each showroom on Day 1 and Day 2. And thank you to Esteem Media for opportunity.
