ORC - Week 4

We are rolling right along into week 4! So last week the moldings were installed and my husband and I painted the room over the weekend. Painting wasn’t as horrible as we imagined. We had all the tools (primer, paint, brushes) and good music. We started priming the room on Saturday night and finished painting Sunday night. We painted the room with brushes instead of rollers because of the molding on the top and bottom. If you remember correctly the room was black on the bottom and white on top, so we used a grey primer (recommended for this paint color) to make the walls all one color so Frambroise wouldn’t appear lighter on top and darker on bottom.

Good News!

So what prompted me to start painting? Two things, first having the moldings installed made me want to see the paint on the walls pronto. Second, I received notification that my Ballard Design custom banquette shipped! It was scheduled to be shipping in January so this was quite the wonderful surprise. Additionally, my rug will arrive around the same time as the banquette so I wanted the room to be ready to receive both. Honestly I thought I had time and that this room would be dragged out until the first of year - but not anymore!

Here is what the banquette will look like against the wall color.

I couldn’t resist testing a few items in the room. This photo was taken at night.

What’s left on the check list?

  1. Order curtain rod for drapes/hang drapes

  2. Finish polishing chrome chairs

  3. Remove everything from the room for the rug and banquette arrival

  4. Order art

  5. Paint one of the accessories coming into the office

  6. Get containers for office items

Let’s do this!
