My Home Office Update

This makeover has been 8 weeks in the making.  My home office has been the command center of Dressing Rooms Interiors since 2009.  As my business grew I've reconfigured my office several times (formerly dining room) to meet my needs.

This time I decided to do more than just rearrange, I wanted to paint the walls white (previously yellow stripes) leaving the chair molding gray/black.  I also wanted to introduce color so I started with this vintage mirror (only $40) and had it painted in a coral (park avenue by allen + roth).

My next purchase was this wicker settee.  I added the wicker settee for 2 reasons, first I always wanted settee seating and second, my dog Mini loves to sit on my lap/desk while I work so this settee fit us both comfortably (she is sleep next to me as I write this).  Next I needed a cushion that would be high enough for me to work comfortably.  Well I just happened to have on hand this velvet coral fabric that was perfect for this project - project for my upholsterer that is!  Next I needed pillows for back support, so what are the chances I would find coral pillows at Marshall's -score!!!

Back to the table + chairs  - I've been using this table since 2009 and trying to figure out where to strategically place the 4 chair accompanying chairs.  Finally I put 2 in the foyer and 2 around the table.

I have a picture of this table in my mom's first apartment in 1964. I grew up with this set, which was originally red, before she recovered it in the white vinyl you see, I painted the base to add my own flair.

As an online business a shipping area is very important, so I took a folding table and had a custom skirt made to hide boxes and such under.  This table is perfect for weighing and packing.

I'm feeling very productive in my newish work space and happy that my mom is very much apart of my business even though she physically isn't here to share in it with me.
